The Chelmsford Bowling Club
currently has approximately 120 members, men and ladies, and is based at
Tower Gardens, Roxwell Road, on the outskirts of Chelmsford town centre. We have four
teams in the Chelmsford and District Association's leagues, four teams in
the Central Midweek Bowling Leagues and one team in the Chelmer Ladies
League. There are friendly matches arranged every weekend throughout
the summer season against clubs from all over Essex and beyond.
During the winter we run a carpet bowls competition and there are many
social events organised. We pride ourselves on our hospitality and our bowling green, which is maintained to a very high level by the Borough Council Parks department. We host many representative games for the Essex County Bowling Association, ECBA Group 3 and also the Chelmsford and District Bowling Association. We have a full programme of friendly matches every weekend of the season and we are always happy to try and accommodate touring teams that will be in the area.
