C&D Finals - Success for Paul & Our Girls
Men's 2-Wood
Another great performance from our newly crowned club champion, Paul Harrison.
Paul raced off to an impressive 7-0 lead, only to be pegged back by his opponent Tony Stride to 7-4. The middle of the match then became a battle with both bowlers sharing the shots fairly evenly in this first to 21 match.
Paul then upped his game again, as he took back control of the match and on to win 21-11.
Well done, Paul!
Ladies Pairs
Julie Dudley & Emma Patrick’s amazing season ended in style with a fantastic win over Shirley Beavis & Linda Drewe (Falcon).
Our girls got off to the perfect start with a 4 on the first end and never looked back & romped to 21-4 after 16 ends, winning the match with to ends to spare.
Our Jems (Julie & Ems) have played nearly 30 matches together this season in top club, County Unbadged, Chelmer Ladies & the C&D Ladies Pairs and have lost just one match by the narrowest of margins in the Country Unbadged Semi-Final.
They end the season as Chelmer Ladies Pairs and C&D Ladies Pairs Champions.
Well done ladies!
Club Finals
13/03/2026
We saw some brilliant bowling this weekend as our club finals took place over the weekend.
The matches were entertaining and played in good spirit, with 2 of the opponents even swapping shirts on the green after their match. Well done to John D & Ben L for giving us all laugh.
Well done to all the winners & commiserations to the runner-ups, you all contributed to another brilliant season.

Chelmer Ladies Shield
10/09/206
Our super duo of Julie Dudley & Emma Patrick won the Chelmer Ladies Shield today at the Falcon!
After a slow start, our girls kept their nerve & stayed calm to come back from 5-0 down to reach 19-11 after 17 ends, at which point the ladies from Ingatestone decided to shake hands.
Well done girls!
Julie & Emma are back in action in the C&D Ladies Pairs Final on Sunday at Stock at 2:30. Hopefully they can make it a double!

C&D & CMBL Leagues
14/08/26
This week saw the completion of the C&D and CMBL league seasons.
Well done to all who took part and represented our great club. Thanks to all our captains for their dedication & hard work.
C&D
Our C&D A Team managed to avoid relegation from Division 1 after a particularly tight season, where focus quickly changed from thinking about winning the league to just trying to avoid relegation.
A much better season was had by our C&D B Team who won their last game to secure promotion to Division 2. Well done to John and the boys.
CMBL
Our CMBL A team faltered towards the end of the season after being in the running to win the league for most of the season, they lost their last 2 games 8-0 to drop to 5th in Division 1.
After winning promotion to Division 1 last season, it was always going to be a difficult season for our CMBL B team and that proved to be the case as they found themselves at the bottom of the table and relegated back to Division 2. That’s 2 promotions and 2 relegations in the last 4 seasons, hopefully that means they’ll have a good season next year.
There were some big changes in personnel to our CMBL C & D teams this season and this proved be costly. Our CMBL C team came last in Division 4 and will now play in Division 5 next season with our D team, who done brilliantly to retain their place in Division 5 after a cracking last wood from Dave Ling to secure the 2 points and survival. Dave described the wood as “Probably the best wood, I’ve ever bowled, a real pearler”.
C&D Finalists
11-08-26
Congratulations to Paul Harrison who has made it through to the C&D 2-wood final after beating Martin Goddard in the semi-final.,
Paul won this competition last year, when he beat Ben Parks in the final after a dramatic comeback.
Paul joins Julie Dudley & Emma Patrick (Ladies Pairs) in the C&D Finals day at Stock on the 13th of September.
Paul makes his Middleton Cup Debut
08-08-26
Paul Harrison became the first Chelmsford BC member to represent Essex in the Middleton Cup for over 20 years.
He played well on his debut, playing lead on Ed Morris’ winning rink on Saturday 8th August 2026.
Unfortunately, Essex lost the quarter final clash to Bucks!
Well done Paul, hopefully you’ll get a few more games next year. 👏👏👏
